Kathleen E. Segal is a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA) and a California Licensed Professional Fiduciary (CLPF # 449). Her practice is dedicated to providing professional trust expertise, planning and administration to individuals and families. Kathy works directly with clients and their advisors on developing essential fiduciary strategies, overseeing their implementation and subsequently carrying out the terms of the trusts or other legal structures that have been created to meet each family’s specific needs and objectives.
Kathy has over 25 years of experience in the fields of fiduciary practice and financial planning. She began her career as an attorney in New York City, specializing in the fields of taxation, estate planning and trust administration. Kathy also spent nearly a decade as Vice President of Financial Planning at Mutual of America Life Insurance Company. She was responsible for providing personal financial planning to high net worth individuals. Prior to establishing Montclair Fiduciary and Planning Advisors, LLC, Kathy was a Managing Director at U.S. Trust. She spent 12 years at U.S. Trust, serving in a variety of trust and financial planning roles in New York and San Francisco.
Kathy earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Government from Smith College, and her law degree from Albany Law School, Union University. She is a California Licensed Professional Fiduciary (CLPF #449) and a National Certified Guardian (NCG Emeritus). She has also earned the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (CTFA Ret.) designation from the Institute of Certified Bankers.
